General Issues

1. If you would like to open an Autodesk Inventor 4 file, you first must:
      1) Confirm that the current release of Volo View Express is installed on your machine.
      2) Download Autodesk Inventor Design Assistant. The program is available from Autodesk's Web site,
         at http://www.autodesk.com/voloview-inventor.
      3) Install Autodesk Inventor Design Assistant.
2. If you are installing Volo View as a replacement for Volo View Express, you should
   uninstall Volo View Express first.
3. To view Autodesk Mechanical Desktop 4.0 and Architectural Desktop 2.0 files,
you must download the object enablers from the following locations:
	http://www.autodesk.com/voloview (Companion Products page) and
	http://www.autodesk.com/aecobjenabler.
4. When you print on an 8" x 11" sheet and leave the linetype pattern
scale at 1 (the default), markups look out of scale on the screen but print
correctly. If you increase the linetype pattern scale, markups look correct
on the screen but print incorrectly.
5. Hyperlinks in a DWG base drawing cannot be followed. Hyperlinks in a DWF can be followed.
6. If you encounter long delays opening a drawing that contains TrueType
fonts, it may be because the text in the TrueType font has a Width factor
other than 1.0 or an Oblique Angle value other than 0. To avoid the
problem, change the TrueType fonts to SHX fonts or change the Style to
have a Width of 1.0 and an Oblique Angle of 0.
7. Changes in print scale may cause existing markups to be incorrectly scaled and
positioned when the file is reopened. Selecting "Refit" from the "View"
pulldown menu may correct this problem.
8. If you have trouble viewing DWF files in Internet Explorer and you recently
uninstalled AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT, then AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT probably left
a registry entry behind on your machine.
Do NOT delete the entry described below if you still have a version of AutoCAD or AutoCAD
LT installed on your machine. Only delete the entry if you uninstalled
AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT, and you currently have neither AutoCAD nor AutoCAD
   LT on your machine.
If AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT left an entry behind when you uninstalled AutoCAD
or AutoCAD LT, delete the entry by deleting the following key with the
   Registry Editor:
	HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MIME\Database\Content Type\Model/vnd.dwf
9. For the Tangent, Perpendicular, and Centers snaps to work on markups,
the Geometry snap option must be selected. To select the Geometry snap option,
on the Tools menu click AutoSnap and, in the AutoSnap dialog box, check Geometry.
   Then click OK.
10. Volo View Express, not Internet Explorer, should be used to print DWG, DXF, and DWF files.
11. If you open an IPT or IAM file (IPTs and IAMs are created with Autodesk Inventor 4),
and you cannot see the file's objects, change the size of the file's window. For example,
maximize the window or reduce its size. The objects should appear.
12. When you install onto a machine with Windows 2000 as the operating system,
if you get an error message that "there is not enough space available on the disk,"
but you know that you have more than enough, then the machine may have
a registry error created by some installations of the Windows 2000 operating system.
By the time the Volo View installer displays the error about insufficient space,
the Volo View installer will have automatically corrected the registry error. However,
you will need to cancel the installation and restart the Volo View installer
for the correction to take effect.
